You may not even realize how heavy it is until you finally set it down.

Forgiveness wasn’t something that came easily to me at first. Like so many, I’ve been hurt, disrespected, mistreated — more than once. For a long time, I thought forgiveness was about letting the other person off the hook. About saying what they did was okay.

But here’s the truth: forgiveness isn’t really for them.
It’s for you.

When you forgive, you’re not excusing the hurt.
You’re choosing to release yourself from the bitterness, the anger, the stress of carrying it all around.

These days, I can honestly say there isn’t a single person I hold a grudge against. And that’s not because everyone has always treated me right.
It’s because I’ve come to see that so much hurt we experience comes from places that were never even about us to begin with — someone else’s bad day, their pain spilling over, their own burdens projected outward.

When you realize that, it becomes easier to let go.
It becomes easier to give grace — and to find your own peace.

Because here’s what no one tells you:
When you let go of the grudge, you make space for joy.
When you stop rehearsing the hurt, you start living free.

So today, I want to invite you to ask yourself:
✨ Who do you still carry in your heart with anger or hurt?
✨ What would it feel like to finally let it go?
✨ Who might you become if you laid that burden down?

You deserve that freedom.
It doesn’t mean what happened was okay.
It means you’re ready to stop letting it hold power over you.

Life is too short to carry all that weight.
At this mile marker, you get to choose a lighter road ahead.
