We all go through seasons — times when our lives seem full and fruitful, and times when everything feels dry, stripped back, and bare. But through it all, we remain a part of something greater.
The heart of this category comes from the words of Jesus in John 15:5:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
What an incredible picture of both humility and hope.
We are not expected to have it all together, or to bloom endlessly in every season. We’re simply called to remain — to abide — and let God do His work in us.
There are times when our lives overflow with good things, and it’s easy to see the fruit. There are also times of pruning — those hard seasons when things are stripped away. Yet even pruning is a gift, because it makes room for healthier growth and even more fruit down the road.
Jesus reminds us in John 15:2:
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
And in the dry seasons, we can cling to the promise of Jeremiah 17:7-8:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
That’s what Life as a Branch is about — learning to trust the process, stay rooted, and remember that we are never alone. Even in times of drought or when we feel a little wild, we’re still held by the Vine, still His.
In this space, you’ll find encouragement to embrace your season — whatever it looks like right now — and find beauty in the growing, the pruning, and the abiding.
You are a branch. You are part of something eternal. And you are deeply loved.
